The journey

Daniel started shooting film in the Bo-Kaap while studying journalism. His long-term project documenting the city's early-morning traders has been exhibited in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Favourite locations

The Grand Parade on market day, Woodstock's side streets just after sunrise, and the harbour at Kalk Bay when the boats come in.

The gear

The MINI RIDER V2 carries a rangefinder, two rolls of film and nothing else. "The best camera bag is the one you forget you're wearing."
